Zulfikar Somji, franchisee of ten restaurants across East London, has sponsored the 2016 Thames Gateway Business Awards. Run by publisher Archant, the awards are designed to promote and celebrate companies from across East London and Essex.
Zulfikar Somji has been a franchisee in East London for fourteen years and he currently employs over 700 people. Zulfikar’s success has been recognised via multiple internal McDonald’s awards including winning the National Just Bin It Competition, the Three Legged Stool, and being awarded the Fred L. Turner Golden Arches award earlier this year. Zulfikar’s accomplishments have been underpinned by a proactive approach to working with the communities within which he operates. His outstanding commitment to people development and work in the community have ensured McDonald’s has become a stalwart in the local area.
Zulfikar Somji, franchisee, said: “I consider it a huge honour to be involved with awards such as this, helping to recognise the outstanding performances of businesses within the local community.”
