Barking Enterprise Centre to launch initiative encouraging employers to hire more of the borough’s youngsters
The Barking Enterprise Centre are set to launch a campaign calling for businesses to pledge to provide jobs, apprenticeships and work placement’s the borough’s young people.
At a launch event later this month the centre will allow businesses to learn how they can formally register for the scheme.
Barking Enterprise Centre’s chief executive Karen West-Whylie will be on hand on the day to help explain the process to businesses.
She said: “It is important that all employers commit to providing jobs, apprenticeships and work placements to support our young people.
“The development of the charter and kitemark will allow employers to publicly demonstrate their support.
“The Barking Enterprise Centre was delighted to support the council in its development and we are excited by this great initiative.”
